Illustrator, author, and surface designer Jill McDonald is known for her feel-good, colorful art.
Jill graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Textiles. She spent a couple of years in NYC working for Gap Inc. as a print stylist in the kids and baby division. Missing the Midwest, where she grew up, Jill moved back home to work for Hallmark as an illustrator and surface designer.
Curious to see where her talent could take her, she started her design studio in 2004 with her husband and business partner, Antonio. Who previously worked as an architect.
Jill enjoys product development and likes to build collections with her art. She has designed kids and baby bedding, fabric collections, wall art, puzzles, games, greeting cards, giftwrap, apparel collections, books and more. She is the author and illustrator of the best-selling early learning series, Hello, World!
Getting to be an author has surprised Jill the most! Being dyslexic writing books was something her younger self never imagined doing. Surprises can be wonderful!
(Not giving up helps too.)
Jill works in a sun-drenched home studio designed by Antonio. She has a teenage son who she adores and a sweet French Bulldog who keeps her company while she creates.
